Para nosotr@s el punk representa una estrategia de vida frente a tanta porquería que nos quieren vender las economías depredadoras, las morales absurdas y los autoritarismo. Para esto hemos construido nuestro propios espacios, empezando desde nuestras individualidades, entiéndase esto como el cuerpo y la mente, nuestras bandas, nuestros fanzines, nuestros colectivos y escenas, no dependiendo de ningún líder o patrón. La musica es para nosotros un medio de difusión de ideas y propuestas. La apariencia, los parches, los pelos parados, los estoperoles, las playeras negras, las botas son una herramienta mas de lucha frente a tanta hipocresía en este mundo donde como te ven te tratan. Ante todo el punk es una forma de pensar y de actuar, creemos en la autogestión, en el apoyo mutuo, en la fraternidad y en la autoorganización de comunidades, pueblos, cooperativas, colonias, sindicatos y colectivos. WHO: Community/Farmworker Alliance-NYC On October 4th, 2012 the Coalition of Immokalee Workers won another huge victory for farmworker justice! After six years of national organizing and pressure from the CIW and their allies, Chipotle Mexican Grill finally signed on to the CIW’s Fair Food Program! Chipotle is the 11th major corporation that has committed to purchase Florida tomatoes solely from farms who abide by a set of labor standards that guarantee workers’ rights and dignity in the fields, developed between farmworkers, tomato growers, and corporate purchasers. The Fair Food Program is monitored by the Fair Foods Standards Council and includes a small price premium to help improve harvesters’ wages. Due to the CIW and allies’ dedicated organizing over the past two decades, it is a new day in the tomato fields of Florida! The food movement that prides itself on environmental sustainability and animal welfare is holding itself accountable to the workers that put food on our tables everyday. Workers and allies are organizing against human rights abuses in the food industry and taking action for true food justice. The Chipotle victory is evidence of this and would not have been possible without all of you here in New York City who came to rallies, signed postcards, took part in delegations, and put the pressure on Chipotle to truly serve “food with integrity”. QUIEN: Alianza Comunitaria NY con los Trabajadores Agrícolas El 24 de Octubre del 2012 la Coalición de Trabajadores de Immokale logró otra victoria para los trabajadores agrícolas. Luego de 6 años de organizar a nivel nacional y gracias a la presión de CIW y sus aliados, Chipotle Mexican Grill firmó el acuerdo de Comida Justa con CIW. Chipotle es una de las once corporaciones que se han comprometido a comprar tomates de la Florida, solamente de fincas que respetan y aceptan los estándares laborales que garantizan los derechos de los trabajadores y su dignidad en los campos, esos lineamientos han sido desarrollados entre los trabajadores agrícolas, los criadores de tomate y los compradores de las corporaciones. El programa de Comida Justa se monitorea en el Concejo de Estándares de Comida Justa e incluye un mejoramiento de los sueldos de los piscadores. Gracias a la dedicación y a la organización de CIW y sus aliados en las últimas dos décadas, es un nuevo amanecer en los campos de tomate. El movimiento de defensores de la comida que se enorgullece de la sostenibilidad ambiental y el bienestar animal se está haciendo responsable de los trabajadores que llevan la comida a nuestras mesas todos los días. Via NYC ANTIFA: Saturday, August 4, 2012 We are calling for all queers, radicals and anarchists in NYC to join us at Washington Square Park on August 4th and form a Queer Bloc (AKA Pink Bloc). Greenwich Village has long been a safe haven for LGBTQ people but has recently been undergoing gentrification. Lower class LGBTQ people, mainly POC and transgender people have been forced out their homes due to the rising price of rent and property tax in the neighborhood. The police presence has also been growing in the village. Sex workers, transgender people and queer POC are often harassed by the NYPD and frisked with no reasonable cause as required by law. On the 4th of August we will show solidarity with the queers in our city and remember those who liberated the LGBTQ community during the Stonewall Riots.
