Las bases de la “Política Migratoria Común” de la Unión Europea
En los últimos días ha resultado noticia la aprobación en Arizona, EEUU, de una ley que tipifica a la inmigración indocumentada como delito, la SB-1070. Legislación que a partir de su entrada en vigor en el mes de julio, obligará a las autoridades policiales a arrestar a aquellas personas que despierten la “sospecha razonable” de encontrarse en condiciones de ilegalidad en territorio estadounidense; con el agravante de que, de no hacerlo, dichos funcionarios podrían ser demandados por los residentes de sus respectivas comunidades. Conjuntamente, será enjuiciado todo aquel que les emplee o preste ayuda.
De acuerdo con sus promotores, en especial, el senador republicano Rusell Pearce –a quien se la atribuyen vínculos con grupos racistas neonazis-, y la Gobernadora del Estado, Jan Brewer, la SB-1070 debe ser recibida como un instrumento concebido para fortalecer la seguridad nacional ante la avalancha migratoria que recibe esencialmente desde la frontera mexicana; y mucho más directo, como un instrumento diseñado para “reducir las tasas delictivas”, aseveración con la que la inmigración resulta criminalizada per sé.
